Nepal Government revises the Minimum Wage

The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has set new federal minimum wage effective from Shrawan 1, 2080 (July 17, 2023).

For all workers (except tea-estate workers)

The minimum salary has been revised upwards to NPR 17,300 per month.

For Tea-estate Labourers

However, the minimum salary for labourers working on tea-estates has been increased to NPR 13,893 per month.

Other provisions

    • Every worker shall be entitled to an employment contract and an appointment letter.

    • In addition to the minimum salary, each worker shall be entitled to gratuity and provident fund as per the provisions of Social Security Act 2017 and other relevant laws of Nepal
